We’re pleased to announced that Siro Giaquinto has joined our team as Head of Technical Pricing and Underwriting.
As Head of Technical Pricing and Underwriting, Siro will be responsible for delivering on our loss ratio commitments to capacity partners by helping us innovate and advance our risk modelling, managing our portfolio and further developing our underwriting capacities.
We asked Siro some questions about joining Homeprotect and the career path that led him here. Here’s what he had to say:
Tell us about your career to date?
In terms of my professional background, I bring more than 15 years of valuable experience within the realm of technical pricing, along with a profound enthusiasm for making data-driven decisions. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with some exceptional teams, and I’m genuinely thrilled to contribute my expertise to Homeprotect.
Tell us about a topic/trend that interests you, or you think will influence the future of the insurance industry?
One topic that greatly intrigues me and is poised to influence the future of the insurance industry is the integration of artificial intelligence and advanced data analytics. As we move forward, AI can revolutionize underwriting, risk assessment, and claims processing, ultimately enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and customer experience. Moreover, the industry’s adaptation to more personalized and usage-based insurance models through IoT (Internet of Things) and telematics is another exciting trend. These innovations hold the potential to optimize pricing and coverage for both the insurer and the insured.
Tell us something about life outside of work?
Outside of work, I place great importance on maintaining a healthy work-life balance. I’m an avid football enthusiast, and I find joy in both watching and playing the sport, although I don’t play as much these days. Additionally, I have a love for skiing, hiking, cooking and exploring new destinations. Traveling with my family is a significant part of my life, as it not only allows us to discover new cultures and places but also strengthens our bonds. Most importantly, I enjoy spending quality time with my children, which not only brings happiness but also helps my creativity and problem-solving skills that I eagerly bring to the workplace. I believe that a well-rounded life outside of the office is vital for maintaining focus and achieving success within it.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
In my new role, I’m particularly excited about the opportunity to lead a team of talented professionals and implement cutting-edge pricing strategies. I look forward to working together to achieve outstanding results and make a significant impact on the success of Homeprotect.
